Pakistan’s Independence Day, which is annually held on August 14, celebrates the country’s independence from British rule on that date in 1947. This day is an occasion to promote patriotism and national unity.
People all over Pakistan celebrate Independence Day with patriotic zest. Students at NED also celebrate this day very joyfully. Many rallies are marched throughout the university. Islami Jamiat Talba NED leads all these rallies to show patriotism and sincerity towards the two nations’ theory.
A special program is arranged in which different celebrities come ( Junaid Jamshed, Nadir Ali, Asad Shafique, etc came in previous years) and addresses students and performances are presented. Also on this auspicious event, IJT NED organizes the biggest cake cutting party in NED which is attended by hundreds of NEDIANS and is that famous in NEDIANS that this day is named “Cake Day”.
